Holy smokes they are here! With sockeye being closed on the east side I decided to hit the salt and trying for some pinks and maybe an early coho. We hit the water at first light and deposited our crab pots in a promising location before we began fishing. From 6am -830 am we managed two bites and one fish. This is not looking good. I noticed none of the boats around us are catching either so we moved a little bit and began trolling into the outgoing tide. Moving backwards at .5 mph. We instantly began hooking into doubles and triples. Lines were getting tore out of our hands setting downriggers. We established a pattern and noticed 2" hoochies without a blade were the ticket. Also using Money Maker scent bombs with Krill Super Dipping Sauce worked very well, also Dipping the Squids into the Krill. We boated 30+ fish in three hours and retained our limit of 16 chrome bright pinks. What a day!

Depths of 25'-50' on the wire over 200+' of water seemed to the the ticket. Keeping our water speed around 1.5mph and making lots of turns. Also keeping the scent fresh was a factor in consistent bites. We fished 2" pink hoochies on 2/0 red hooks tied on 16"of 25# mono. These where fished behind Mack's double D dodgers.
