We were on the 6am ferry from mukilteo, heading to the beach just down from the Townsend ferry. The 5 or 6 cars in front of us took the bush point exit as did several cars behind us.
We were on the beach fishing by 7am, not much jumping and nobody appeared to be catching. Around 7.30 I had one on but he shook the hook ten feet from the bank. There was a short flurry of activity, saw a couple landed including the guy next to me, then it went quiet for a while.
The guy next to me beached one then lost it when he could not keep hold and it flopped it's way to freedom. Then it was my turn again and this time he was beached, bopped and bagged.
That was pretty much it, the crowd started to thin out, so we left to get breakfast.
Before heading to the ferry we swung by bush point as I had never been there before. Damn the place was crowded, looked like folks had been catching, we stayed for an hour with no luck, did not see anyone catch while we were there.
Now sitting in line waiting for the ferry.

Also wanted to add that as far as I could see everyone on the keystone beach appeared to be following the rules, however at bush point as I was leaving I saw multiple people filling out catch records at their cars as they prepared to leave, also saw many stringers with more than 4 fish although they could have been for multiple people. One Asian guy did not know that it was single barb less hook, wonder what other regs he was not aware of. No signs of any enforcement

The one with the pier in the background, too be fair it does not do a good job of conveying just how busy it was

Just for you Hegonefishin, Asian guy walking across parking lot with his family and fishing gear in tow see guy setting his rod up and asks, So you cant use a treble hook? guy replies no and you have to pinch your barb down, asian guy, really no barbs?. That right there told me he did not know the regs, not making anything up or being racist, I could make a few suggestions to you but obviously they would do no good.

Beeman, quote: "Asian guy and his family?" How do you know that they're Asian? I was there last week, happened to see lots of different ethic groups from all over the world like Asians (yes, they were there), Hispanics, Caucasians, African Americans, etc...and automatically it's an Asian family, that's so racist. You make suggestions to me on how to fish..hahalol. The day that you teach me how to fish for Salmon, Steelheads, etc...is the day that I'll go kill myself. You're probably one of those guys with a Walmart rod / reel combo with 100 lbs braided line fishing for Pinks. Long story short, mind your own damn business. Don't worry about what people do or use, that's where our tax $$$ comes in. Let the WDFW fish and game do their job...Sml
