We were on the 6am ferry from mukilteo, heading to the beach just down from the Townsend ferry. The 5 or 6 cars in front of us took the bush point exit as did several cars behind us.
We were on the beach fishing by 7am, not much jumping and nobody appeared to be catching. Around 7.30 I had one on but he shook the hook ten feet from the bank. There was a short flurry of activity, saw a couple landed including the guy next to me, then it went quiet for a while.
The guy next to me beached one then lost it when he could not keep hold and it flopped it's way to freedom. Then it was my turn again and this time he was beached, bopped and bagged.
That was pretty much it, the crowd started to thin out, so we left to get breakfast.
Before heading to the ferry we swung by bush point as I had never been there before. Damn the place was crowded, looked like folks had been catching, we stayed for an hour with no luck, did not see anyone catch while we were there.
Now sitting in line waiting for the ferry.
