Decided to try something crazy, catch a pink on a little trout rod with 2lb test. I went to my usual beach and hooked one within ten minutes. Well, that pink kicked my butt. Drag was screaming, there was no stopping it. The hook fell out before it wrapped me in the pilings. Fished for two more hours with nothing going on. Decided to call it a morning. I stopped in a parking lot along the waterfront and saw one roll. Grabbed the gear, made a few casts and fish on! It was really rocky and the fish did its best to get into them. Luck was on my side as I slid the fish into the net.Mission complete! Made some more casts , hooked two more but they were a little bigger and found thier way into the rocks. 1 for 4 is not the best but hey, I was using 2lb test.
