Launched out of Mukilteo, About 5am..(Damn $15 Launch Fee!!..) 3 of us in the Boat. '99 Lund Pro V LE 2025. Tournament Series.
Headed toward S.E Whidbey Island. As we arrived we could see schools of bait fish surfacing. We knew there should be Coho around somewhere. Depth was about 130'. My bro, fishing starboard side, Drops his D.Rigger down to 45'. Port side, 2 lines stacked on other D.Rigger. about 10ft apart at 45ft. Within a few mins. My bros rod starts to dance "Fish On" Coho bout 5lbs. Bout 30mins go by & My rod goes off "Fish On". Coho bout 3lbs. We were using 11" Flashers (Glow Splatter back, Purple Haze) 36" leaders, Double Glow hoochies (Green splatterback & Clear with inserts). Our buddy got a small 2lb Humpy, which looked like a Coho at 1st.
Eventually threw 2 crab pots. Got 2 Dungenous keepers.
Wind started picking up a bit from the south building some bigger waves. So we finally decide 2 Head back to launch (About 2pm). As we're approaching there must have been what seemed like 5ft swells. Not a Good place 2 launch/retrieve ur boat from when weather gets bad.
Be expected to get hasseled by the WDFW Surrvey guy.. As ur trying to get ur boat ready 4 transport.
