Hit the water at dawn, trolled over to west point finding surfacing bait along the way, I was trolling a pink hoochie, with a chart rotating flasher. I added a pink smile blade to my hoochie to give it some movement. I used a 6 ounce ball weight and trolled it 75 feet back. the rotating flashers are great for kayak fishing because they have less drag but do not impart any movement to the offering. I saw quite a few jumping pinks and shakers. I did cast for pinks a little as I came across schools. The were just nipping and following my humpy jig. I landed one hatchery Coho buck, 22". it was a soft bite and I thought I had another shaker on. A good battle at the boat and I had Sunday dinner. Headed home at 10 to watch the Seahawks.
