Amazing day of fishing, The best day I have ever had in my 45 yrs of fishing. Almost every spot I fished Coho were eating flies. Hooked one close to the boat and it freaked, on the 3rd jump it lands in the boat, lands on my 5 gal bucket that is full and flops back in the water to finish the battle.

One fish follows my fly to the boat, spins 360 degrees eats it before it takes off for a long run. Man these fish were showing off today. So many aerial assaults and long reel screaming runs I lost count. How do you stop a 9lb. Coho from rocketing into a kelp bed, you don't!!! You just deal with it. This was the fishing trip I've been dreaming about for a long time. Salt water Coho on flies fight so well, I could never go back. Ended up keeping the first and last fish both were hatchery dinks.
