Stolen Pots

I know this has been brought up before but I just had to share this. One of my friends lives on Vashon and was tending his pots yesterday and found 5 derelict crab pots in the shallows, all the pots had no weight in them and where covered in barnacles. He said it looked like the pots had been drifting along the bottom and all found each other, and where all rapped up. I know allot of people on this site know what they are doing and weight there pots, but I have seen plenty of pots getting thrown off the sides of boats with no weight, and three hours later you see the boat looking for a pot they will never find, and then have the nerve to ask me if I took it, just because I was crabbing in the area. As for me I can say I have lost a couple of pots, but mine are 40ish pounds with 200 feet of lead line and 99 percent of the time they are right on the GPS way point I left it on, and the time I lost the pot I am sure some one ran it over.
Just thought I would share my friends experience from yesterday.

Oh and crabbing was OK a few keepers
