We dropped our crab pots into QuarterMaster Harbor Thursday morning and let them soak for about 2 hours. When we checked them we got a total of 3 Red Rock Crab. We moved 3 pots to a different location and left 1 where it was because of the number of crabs it contained even though no keepers. Decieded to go home and let the pots soak overnight
We returned Friday around noon to check the pots. No luck again. Out of 4 pots we got 4 Red Rock and again Zero Dungeness.
I have been crabbing this area for many years and have always done fairly well. This summer I have crabbed 4 days and haven't caught a single legal Dungeness. I've been doing pretty much the same things that have worked in the past so don't know what I'm doing wrong. I would be interested in hearing if other folks are having better luck and if so what am I doing wrong. Chicken for bait and have had pots from 40 FOW to !00 FOW and in many different locations in Quartermaster.
