We launched about 6am to travel out to the 180 feet I think. It took more than an hour to get there. It was kind of rough with 5 foot waves at 8 seconds so the forecast said.

Cami hooked a shaker fairly soon after starting our troll which was westward and we went all the way to 225 feet.

Then it was waiting and trolling, change gear, waiting and trolling and change gear, and change gear. Went deep then came up to 95 feet on the wire. The third change I put on a Gibbs flasher and a lure (unnamed) that I made a few years ago.
After 3.5 hours I was putting away my flashers and lures into the flasher bag and Glenn says “you got a bite”. So I stumble over to my rod, grabbing it and I feel head shakes. It came in fairly easy until it saw the boat. It took a bit to get it in but Cami did a nice job of netting. Then we both hefted it over the gunnels.

After Glenn bled it I used his scale to weigh it. It was just less than 17 pounds. I had trouble holding it and standing because of the waves. I wonder about the scales being right. It sure felt heavier than 17.

We fished some more. Glenn hooked a shaker. I hooked 2 more shakers and then it was slow again. AND Glenn wasn’t feeling well. In fact he came to sit down and it was decided we were going to quit then he heaved over the gunnel. He had never been seasick but he thought it was possible, until morning came and we didn’t go out and cut our trip short due to illness.
