The Chinook Gods turned benevolent yesterday around 9 AM as I managed to net the wildest clipped Chinook in recent memory! In the process of dropping the gear down down (Herring Aide Spoon/Gibbs UV Red Flasher) this Chinook hit and the fight was on jumping out of the water at least 5 times. Somehow I got it to the net and that was my day. It was 27 1/2" long/12 LBS pretty much what I've been netting this year.
The very early morning action has been the best, before first light until 8-9 AM, after that it turns into the grinding type of fishing looking for that one fish, maybe!!
** The bay side ramp at Kingston is very slick with thick slime seaweed. You could very well have your vehicle lose traction and slide back into the water as well as slip on it yourself. So consider putting the rig into 4 wheel drive if launching from that side.**
