So I have never fished for Salmon in the rivers before - been reading all of the forums & posts & doing my homework. Went out to Diagonal Park & around 99 bridge every day over Labor day weekend throwing jigs and buzz bombs- Nothing. I never posted any reports because - well I wanted to start out posting a success! Then I started watching others who where catching & continued reading the forums here and realized I was fishing too fast and too high in the water. Decided to try the Dick Nite drift setup and picked up a pink Blue Fox Spinner so I could slow it down a little and get lower in the water. After work I went out under the hwy 99 bridge, decided to try the spinner first and 2nd cast - fish on!! From 6:30 to 8:00pm I got three pinks to shore and one that broke my line (I was using my 6lb trout setup). Kept two of the pinks. Persistence pays!!
