Got to the river at around 2:30pm. The weather broke but it was still real windy. The tide was outgoing but do to the rains the river was muddy and the current was really strong. I was with a friend and we were fishing over the top of some structure that was in about 6-7 feet of water and running the lures in about 3-5 feet of water. We were just about to quit at around 5:30pm. Then my buddy got about a 4lb silver(didn't scale it) on a chartreuse spoon. At about 6pm I hooked into a nice 10lb silver (definitely scaled it!) on a chartreuse spinner. At first I thought I hooked a log but then he shot out of the water like a rocket. After he splashed down like Moby Dick he put up a nice fight but I'm happy to say he is now in my refrigerator in the form of two very nice fillets!!!! Tight lines and I'll see you out on the River!!!

Thx guys! As to the big one being a King I did quite a bit of on-line research, showed several experienced salmon fisherman the pic and he was definitely a silver. I am new to salmon fishing so I was nervous that I took a fish I wasn't supposed to.You guys got my PMs so go get one! May your next salmon be a big ole silver!

Where have you been fishing Derrick? I also got an 8 pounder about a week ago. I know this guy from the river and he says he got a 16lb silver. He says he will show me the pic so I can't sign off on it just yet but I don't think he would lie.

Nice looking fish Jay!!! Don't let those "Salmon folks" take you away from your bass roots...LOL I'm jealous, I've yet to land a Salmon (haven't fished for one yet), let alone one the size of a small boat.
