Hit the river just below the dam near Metaline (I'm aware that this report is for the wrong area, but there does not seem to be an option for the Pend Oreille River in Pend Oreille County and I think people should know that there is some good fishing to be found)
Anyway I was surprised to find some eager trout that liked my offerings - I fished for Tuesday and Wednesday for about 5 combined hours and released several (maybe 10 or 11) moderate to good sized trout, between 14" and 18"
I fished above the dam and didn't find a single bloody pike! That was what I really wanted.
These trout fought well and were a pleasant surprise though so I therefore rank this trip a 4/5.
