today i fished the green down by 1st ave bridge. fun day on the water schools running every where thanks to the seal. fished for 3 hours and caught one 12 lb. king which everyone was telling me to keep, but instead i did the right thing and got it back into the water as soon as possible. at least everyone on the dock caught at least one silver except me. better luck next time. one guy had on about a 8 lb. silver and it ran far out from the bridge when all of a sudden the seal pops up with the guys silver in his mouth. the seal took one big chunk outta the fish and let go, the fish was killed instantly and the guy had about a 1/2 of a silver. anyways good day on the water i'll be back this weekend when school is over. tight lines.

the dock is more like a pier and is under the west seattle freeway bridge

I think mikel is referring to Spokane St. bridge, which is under the West Seattle Bridge right at the mouth of the Duwamish. Just F.Y.I. Everything dowstream from the 1st Ave S. bridge falls under Area 10 rules.

I went down to check it out last year during the pink run. It is pretty much shoulder to shoulder combat fishing there when they are running thick (and I mean literally, shoulder2shoulder). It's not for me, but if you enjoy that kind of fishing then you'll definitely want to check it out. Also you will need a way to net em (see the modified crab pot in mikel's pic). You are fishing over a railing and depending on the tides the water is anywhere from 3-10' below your feet.

ya a net is a good idea down there, but no fisherman are usually there between 4 a.m- 8 a.m, which is when i think the fishing is best

good release of that king mikel...not a lot of the guys that fish down there would release that fish even if they are foul-hooked, not to mention illegal. great fish nonetheless...

thanks trackster13, i know what you mean about how people wouldnt release the kings even if they are foul hooked and are suppose to release them there, but i play by the rules even though i kinda cheated the handling rule for kings.
