I'd guess the pike are a little deeper....however,these are river pike. So I have no idea what the hell to do.
Best of luck out their and keep us posted on those pike reports and pics. It gives me something to look forward too(lol)
I'm going crazy over here for some pike fishing.

Hey this is troutheart(Tim), we talked at the mens breakfast at life center last month. I was chatting with Nick about this upcoming fishing season and he said you were getting the itch to go to pend oreille river. I'm wondering if any of the launches are open? I was out there a month ago and the launch at Newport and the next three down le clerc had a ton of snow in the way, I didn't know if they plow those or wait till they melt, any idea? Anyways the temp should be perfect on the river for some early spring small and large mouths after this weeks cold front passes and it warms up a little. I know some great spots in the open water, we should talk. I'll look for you at church next week.

jadietzel,
That area you will be in is good for bass and Pike. It is still early though and the sloughs still have ice on them. It is a challenge just to find a open launch right now. Once we get some warmer weather hit the shallows with spinners, cranks and swim baits and you will have some action. Good luck!
