What a joke!!! I showed up at 330am to the river, and there were already 12 people there! they got there at 1am to start fishing. and correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure there is a night restriction on the sky, so we got us a few hick law breakers, and they were using darts and spinners, and casting thier line over everyone elses bobber, the place is a bobber hole people! oh well i learned a valuable lesson here..........never ever go on a weekend, because by 5am there were 22 people trying to fish one spot, we had to cast over eachothers head (literally) and let our bobber float, then reel in and repeat the process, and everyone was hooking up on eachothers line.......and to top it off.......not one fish was caught between 330 and 8am, but we did watch one sled roll up at 7am and literally in 15 seconds he had a fish, and then took off. terrible day, but still better than a good day at the office

Where on the wallace were you? I passed the wallace river salmon hatchery at 4:30 am going up to the big eddy and i didnt see anyone on the wallace?

thats because that stretch of river is closed from bridge at reese rd up river......the hole your talking about right at the mouth of the sky is not just a float fishery, ive been fishing that area for 20+ years and spoons and spinners work well there because you can get down fast......now i do not use darts and buzz bombs but i drift fish eggs and throw spoons alot....I figure you either have to all try and get along or find another spot if the way your choosing to fish is not working around other techniques being used.......you are right about the hick poachers though...........also if you can get a side planner and plug that water it works great

ya its just frusturating to have that many people there and some hicks showing up at 1am to fish, when there clearly is a night restriction. but i wont be going anytime soon on the weekend, it was just redicilous with how many people there were. and thanks for the reccomendations, ill have to try one of my plugs next time.

I was there last weekend and I ended up throwing just about everything in my tackle box. Spinners, spoons, rapalas, live bait. My point is I was weary of other peoples gear, and would cast around them. The guys that kept getting their gear crossed that day were the ones with bobbers. All kinds of gear can fish the same spot, it just depends on how good the people casting are. At one point we had people of both sides of the river throwing stuff in all different directions. Some casting, some plunking, and some drifting.

i didnt meant to say it was a bobber hole only, i was just upset that people with other tackle kept throwing it over the bobber fishermen and tangling it, its like they had no aim. sorry for any confusion

So you are pissed off cause people got up earlier than you to go fish the same area as you.You want them to be in trouble for fishing at night(1 AM) and you are there in the dark at 3:30 doing the same thing.You are just pissed cause you are just as much a "hick" as them and cant catch fish either.STOP HATING you hypocrite!!!Thats the only place open on the wallace now.Get over it.
