Last minute decision to go fishing Friday eve after work. Glad we did as my counterpart shown above did a nice job hooking and lading a 20" SMB. Great speciman. We caught 5 total the smallest being 12". 20", 18", 16", 14" , 12" In that order! All fish were released, Weather was questionable and we got pushed off the water at 8:30pm after only 2 hours of fishing. We mainly stayed in the upper sections where the current would provide a good drift and then casted toward shore.

A week earlier I boated two almost identical smallies that were in the 17" to 18" range in the same section of river.

Good luck to all!

you should add that beast to the trophy bass section in the Forums under bass fishing...

While not the longest river the Spokane is a far piece of water. What part of the river were you on?

That looks like the mouth of the Little Spokane coming into Long. Nice fish, what did you catch her on?

Okay, is it a river of a lake. Technically it's a lake. But it is part of a river system and is referred to as the Spokane river from lake CDA to the confluence at two rivers. Is Rufus woods a lake or part of the Columbia river. It's all just semantics. Anyway we went out again last night after work. Much slower day of fishing caught one decent SMB using a Top water thrown perfectly at the base of the vegetation at the shoreline, a quick jerk and BAM! Fish on. The fish have definitely moved to a different local so now we are going to have to go find them next time. Current in this upper section has slowed a lot. The fish pictured above was caught on a 1/4oz perch pattern spoon. Those of you who guessed just above the confluence would be correct. Fish On Fellow Fisherman FISH ON!!
