I went on a scouting trip today down in the Cedar River. I was by the Non-Motorized boat launch near the mouth of the Cedar between the Renton airport and the Boeing plant. The river looked like a canal with slow moving water. The bottom of the river look like mud with some logs on the bottom. I was hoping that smb was cruising around, but there was lack of rocky structure. I saw baitfish near some piles, so I went ahead and casted a 3 inch grub around. No smallmouth caught at that location. I was hoping that they would be there since its so close to Coulon Park.

Later, I walked to the kayak/canoe rental dock. Its part of the Cedar River Trail and it extends in front of the Boeing plant. Check Google maps to check it out. I saw some teens leave and they didnt catch any fish. There was also an old man that was fishing for perch. He had the rig where the sinker is on the bottom with two hooks above it. I left soon after. There were many signs that said the gates close at dusk if anyone wants to check out that location. This is probably more of an informational report as I didn't catch any fish.
