Fished under the 7 mile bridge the past two days. Haven't had the best of luck, the past two days catch consisted of 1 little brown, 1 little smally, a few suckers and northern pike minnows. Saw a lot of trout rising yesterday and tons of suckers swimming along the shoreline. Fished with everything in the tackle box and the only thing that produced was the night crawlers. I was planning on float tubing down from plese flats to the bridge so i could jig a little more for some smallmouth but found signs that said it would be a misdemeanor if i tried because apparently the safety cable isn’t functions to block people from flowing over the dam (which has no water flowing over it presently)... so needless to say i was disappointed because all of my hard work had gone to waste.. Saw several other people floating by while i fished from shore that just ignored the signs which i probably will next time just because it doesn't make sense.

No, it doesnt make sense and I have taken my chances float tubing several times. I am not advising it to anyone but I think it is a safe float if you have any common sense whatsoever. But be aware it is unlawful to do so as Xwiscon mentioned.

I had to check and see if that order is still in place and it appears it is. You can follow this link if you want to read the county report. I am contacting the county to remove the ban since the heavy runoff is over with. http://www.spokanecounty.org/news.aspx?dept=0&news=323 Just FYI....if you put in above Plese Flats you are still lawfully able to do so. The stretch of river below Bowl and Pitcher is the best fishing in my humble opinion.

Thanks for the advice. I took a few casts from shore just below there today and had about a 16incher follow my modified roostertail. Ended up catching a squaw fish and almost two little fishers or mink. The loud noise from the rapids must of allowed me to sneak up on them because i didnt see them until l they were less then 5 feet away (like a grouse lol)...But Sometime next week I think i will take the float tube out... good luck and thanks for the info and tips

Where do you park to fish under 7 mile bridge? I've been trying to find Plese Flats on a google map, but unable to do so - can anyone advise? TIA.

I just park on the side of the road on the right side of the bridge if your heading there from town................HAHAHa, i spent a few hours looking for the Plese Flatts area and I am still kind of pissed that the WDFG used that as the boundary for the regulations. Anyway its on the Gun Club road, or something of that nature, you should be able to find that on google earth, and just drive on the road towards 7 mile bridge and you will see a sign (and its not a very big sign so look for it)
