Went out to Langus park. Got there around 2pm and talked or checked out everyone on the shore from the 1st pier all the way past the 5 freeway. One person had a fish, no one else even had so much as a nibble. I drove up to Marysville for lunch and when I returned I started a few 100 feet north of the 5 freeway bridge and worked my way down towards the sound. I caught one 6" trout but that was it. I used spoons, spinners in every color. I didn't have any bait and couldn't find any bait shops anywhere near that place. Apparently it's one of those places where it's BYOBait. The river was very hard to read. I would cast out 20 feet and my lure would go west. I would cast out 30 feet and my lure would go east. The shoreline drops off 5 feet right at the edge and the river is wide and deep so I couldn't see any of the tale tale signs of structure to cast to. I spent a good deal of time fishing around the 5 freeway bridge supports but couldn't get anything. Lots of boats on the river going really fast and harbor seals cruising the shorelines.
