Awesome ending to a great day. Started in the AM catching and releasing many pinks. Took home enough to leave me with the night bite. At night took my buddy Jeff and his daughter down to get them some action. It wasn't long before they both figured it out and had fish too the shore. His daughter (in crocs) hooked and bank landed her first salmon unassisted. While I was trying to show his daughter the how to and what not to do I hooked into this little king. It's kinda dark, but went straight to the smoker. I didn't get any time to show my fish off, because before I knew it a guy was walking out with a 30+ pounder. THAT IS A BIG FISH! Both were hatchery.. seen one other that looked like a silver. It was worth it to brave he rain today :) Fished the upper Puyallup just past the Stuck river.

One questions, where on the puyallup river do you fish. I've never fished for salmon before and was wondering where is a good spot to get to. I'm from Ft. Lewis and not really familiar fising in rivers.

Nice fish! Was the 30lbr on a stringer? There was talk on the river that some guy hooked the native in the back. I never seen the fish, but he was walking upriver with it...

The fish was definately a hatchery, we got a good look at it. Right now you can catch fish anywhere on the lower river from 11th street to Sumner. Limits happen within an hour if you are on them. A popular place that usually has good parking is Traffic Avenue in Sumner. Follow the trail down on the south side of the river to the west and there is a great hole were the stuck runs into the Puyallup.... Bring waders or expect to get wet for the best result. Plenty of fish for everyone right now.
