Arrived at the zoo about 0510, it was still dark and it was raining. I must say I marveled at the cooperation between strangers in getting their boats into the water. Considering the conditions everything went relatively smoothly. There were already many boats on the water. We did not troll, because we did not want to catch any of the regular planter fish. We went to our honey hole and set up shop. We caught and released many standard planters before we ended up with seven triploids. We had caught three planters that were bleeders so we kept them.
I will say though that at the rate the Trips were being caught that by the end of this weekend
there will not be many Trips left to catch. We did not catch any, but we saw several fish taken which were much larger than what we think Trips should be, so either they were holdovers or brood stock fish have also been planted in this lake. Water Temp 52-53F.
