FINALLY!!

Must admit I was starting to think I was Salmon impared. In the last two weeks on 8-10 seperate occassions, close to 40 hours and $100 in snagged gear on the Snohomish, I finally landed my first Salmon!

We tried everything we could to get those fish and saw people catching them all around us but neither my buddy or I could hook a damn thing. We had tried Jigs, Spoons, Corkies, Humpie killers, sand shrimp and everything esle in the box.

Then Friday after losing all but the last pink squid jig I managed to hook and land this beauty on my little trout rod and get her in the net. Heading back today to get get her some company.

Not sure what it is called but the area between the 9 and the 522 where it starts to break out in to sand bars and channels. Went back again this evening to the same place and just got back. I got an even bigger one today but didnt get it home for pics and weight as we practiced catch and escape today. The big female pig was thrashing around on the metal stringer and managed to get herself under the rocks and pry herself loose.

That's why you bleed em while they're on the stringer. One slice through the gills and out across their throats.
