Keeping any fish in the rivers is stupid according to your theory, because they are all in the process of spawning. And if the king was a hatchery, which it was if he kept it, then that is what hatchery fish are made for, keeping. Just my 2 cents.

9/8/2009 5:27:00 AMKing was just dark not "spawned out". Hatchery fish are manually spawned or milked after reaching the hatchery holding pond. They dont survive the process and are donated to food banks. So, if you catch a hatchery fish, eat it.

9/8/2009 3:26:00 PMHey guys I didn't mention this before but the king was a native. I would have reported the guy but he left with it right after he caught it. I told him to release it but I dont think he even spoke english. I know hatchery fish are meant to be caught. Sorry about the misunderstanding. It really sucks when you have people down their keeping illegal fish, and overllimiting. Keeping a native king is one thing but keeping an old boot native whos in the middle of spawning is just messed up.
