Went up to Sedro Woollie with the chicken ranchers (my boys 10, 6, and 3 yo). We put our boat in and went up river to below the pipes. We anchored and put poles out both sides with spoons and spin floats. While we were waiting on them, I casted with my trout rod using pink and yellow flatfish. That ended up being the ticket. Third cast I landed a 5 lb pink after tiring it out on the light line. I had three others on but they got away at the boat. After getting the skunk off our back with the fish in the cooler, I tried letting my boys have a hand at landing the fish. They learned some lessons but caught no more fish. We took the boat back out at dark and headed home. We only had about 1.5 hrs on the water but a great time just the same. The boys sang their "daddy is the fish assassin, killin fish is what he does" song on the way home. A great end to our day. "We'll be back".....
