First Time Ever Fly fishing. THE BEST TIME I'VE HAD FISHNIG IN YEARS!! The feeling I got when I hooked my fist trout was incredible. Yeah, I have a whole lot to learn, but I'm up for the challenge.
Fly fishing is like a foriegn language that the highschools should teach. I had two buddies with me who helped me and had patience with my extreme back cast. We floated the river in the Ellensburg area and had fish on from the first hole we stopped at. White fish, Rainbows and Squah fish. This would have gotten a 5 star, but three rods got broke.... a nice $1000 fall there. And later I fell out of the boat. Embarrassing.. oh well.. at least it was warm. No pics though, bummer.

I'll never forget that trip. Doing it again in February.

Nice report. I would suggest that you don't fall out of the boat in Feb. it might be a bit chilly.

Thanks for the advise Toni :) And no I was not pissing out the boat... this time. I was standing on his casting deck and not paying attention. Thank god it was 85°.

I fished the Yak this past August and was not impressed. Floating/scenery was great but this river simply does not compare to the fly fishing opportunites in North Idaho. Great river for the West siders though ;-) Fish On!

Tossing bugs is the way to go. Good job. Any cutties?
