Went to Stilly this morning at dawn even though it was raining pretty heavily. Only had a few hours to spare. Fished w/ my usual spoons and corky&yarn - various colors, no bites, very discouraging 90 minutes. Had an hour left before needing to leave, so on a hunch, I switched to a mini-hoochie (pink) w/ a 2/0 hook. BINGO! Got all kinds of nibbles and 3 hookups in less than 10 casts! Amazing! Lost 1 that did an awesome somersault out of the water and another (looked/felt like a 10+ lb male) just 10 ft from shore! I was getting very pissed off, but at least it was very fun/exciting. Finally, on the 3rd hookup, I went into zen mode and got super focused on keeping the line as tight as possible while the fish darted a few times toward me and away from me. I wasn't gonna lose this one! Finally, another silver after almost 2 weeks of waiting/dreaming/trying. :-)

Couple of guys near me landed 4 silvers (and foul hooked 2 others) during the same hour, and I was shocked to learn that they used only green corkies without any yarn.

I'm pretty sure that I would've eventually landed a 2nd silver (and give this report a 5 star instead of 4) if I didn't lose my setup to a snag just a few casts later. Besides, I had to go.

Yes, lots of silver "floppers" in places on the Stilly. The ones I saw (and hooked) weren't hanging around the honey hole that had been so productive for me with pinks, so you just gotta go to where you see the silvers jumping and start casting.

Thanks for the report! I've been fishing the Stilly and waiting for the Silvers to bite.

I DID catch the most pinks ever during the heavy rain about 6 weeks ago. I was soaked and could hardly even see, but they were biting so much, I couldn't leave.

@bigeman and @fishermom, I won't be able to fish the Stilly again until next weekend, so I'd greatly appreciate a report if you're there before then cuz I might hit the Green or Puyallup instead since they're a bit closer to me. Still, it's hard to beat the Stilly's beautiful scenery and lack of crowds.

Just got back from the stilly... don't bother, the water is so high there is no place to fish.... the sand bar we all fish from way way way under water. if you know where the signs for the pipeline are, just above the sand bar the water is almost to the top of that and the other two trails before you get to the signs, water is up in the bushes on the trail.

Lliu you picked the right time to go. There was another person fishing and he said last night just before dark he saw 2 silvers caught off the sand bar but now it is under water, he was amazed at how high the water had got since last night when he was there. That big rock on the other side that you usually are casting towards.... almost completely underwater and there are tree after tree floating down the river not to mention the water is like mud, with zero visibility, and moving very fast.

was there for 2.5 hours and did not see a single fish jump. There are zombie humpies swimming along the shore line. I took some pictures of all the debris floating down the river, I will post the later.

@goodtimesfishing, thanks for the report! Sounds like it'll take a few days for the Stilly to settle down, especially with the heavy rain today and more forecasted for tonight. The silver action should be hot next weekend when I get back there. :-)

Yesterday the stilly rocked, today the snohomish sucked. and the stillys blown to hell. Does anyone no where to get the tribal netting schedule ( tulalips) at the mouthof the snohomish. I'm glad the stilliguamish have more common sense than to net the mouth of the stilly.
