I took the day off today and my son begged to go. I'll let him play real hooky today. We met up with Goin_postal and hit the water right before 7am. The river wasn't too crowded compared to the weekend, but still a pain sometimes dealing with attitudes and impatience. I was a somewhat hesitant taking my son, but he got in the mix with everyone else and followed the river rules of casting after the guy below you does. All 3 of us were into fish, into pigs, a few King jacks, but no Silvers for any of us. GP was still going strong when we left around 2p. I walked by a stringer that had 2 native Coho's which is a"no no" here. We all were using corky and yarn switching different colors through out the day. We were using about 5ft of leader and about 1/4 inch of lead. The monster my son is holding, took him way down river and I was so proud of him calling out, "FISH ON! FISH ON, COMING DOWN!!" Some jerks of course had to make comments like, "Conrol your fish. I hope you aren't keeping that boot.." His happiness drowned out their comments, but shame on them. I lost count on how many fish we caught and released today.
Exhaustion is setting in...until next time.
