Started out fishing by Highway 18 at about 11am. First cast fish on, came unbuttoned and weight flew back at me hitting my thumb, painful. 2nd cast same thing, except this time a 1" pencil lead made contact with my head. About 2 hours and 50 pinks later I break my pole. The 2nd pole in 3 weeks, no good. Decided to go to Auburn and look for the silvers. Armed with my trout pole, and a hand tied jig, I was ready. Hook into 5 pinks and just before dark, a nice little 6lb chrome hen falls for my jig. Got off to a rough start, but I can fix the pole, my head and thumb are doing fine, and I was able to make my jig work. So not too bad a day

WOW! I think I might have to ponder what the Lord is trying to say to me with all of that stuff happening at one time gpc! lol Sorry to hear about the broken rod, yeah heads and fingers usually heal up but the rods unfortunately... :-( Oh well, good to hear that you caught a chromer! But now I'm beginning to think that the trip there tomorrow from Vancouver, WA might not be worth it. Sounds like the pinks are really thinning out now....hmmmm....

Fly: the pinks are starting to thin out, but they are still pretty thick. IMO, with the nets coming out today, the recent rainfall, and a nice day scheduled for the forecast tomorrow, the green should be pretty hot this weekend. Hit Kent, and the deeper holes around auburn to avoid the pinks, might even want to scout the tukwilla area. Shallow water from Auburn up will be a pink fest.

Snake: o trust me I took a couple pics, but dont know how to use one of these computer thingys enough to post them

not sure if you were doing it but if you hold your rod abouve a 45 degree angle then the line becomes stronger than the rod
