Went out and met up with howardi225 and gringo at the mouth of Wallace/skykomish. Very slow for all three of us but I gave this report a 2 star because the guys around us seemed to be doing great. Within the few hours we were there, there were several chums landed and hooked including one guy with a fly rod.

First time seeing chum salmon... Didn't realize how big they were!

Anyway, pouring rain and dead pinks everywhere...we called it a day around 11:30am.

Will be back next week, hopefully the run will be thicker than today.

We tried the Snohomish near the 522 bridge and didn't see anything.

the guy that hooked a chum right next to us was using a purple fly he had tied. pretty much a marabou jig but without the jig head.

I was using purple and metalic corkie with purple yarn which did not get a single bite.
