I looked to make sure Minter is ok for night fishing. I use a 20 # braid for my main and 15 # maxima for my leader for the chum now. Been doing much better. Was using a 14 # main and leader wrong answer with these fish.

if you read the fishing regs every year when they come out it will tell you

It used to be illegal to fish for salmon in freshwater at night in our State unless the regs specifically allowed it. Now it appears the other way around. So Mintner creek looks to be open for night fishing.

I have read the regs on the minter and it does not say you can't fish there at night but at the hatchery the have a posted sign that says there is a night closure,which had been crossed out. Right after that it says you can only fish from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset,which would be void if there is really no night closure. So i am really confused. I am not sure if someone from the hatchery crossed out the night closure line or if someone did it so others get caught doing something illigal. As far as quality of the fish goes, they were surprisingly pretty fresh. My buddy even baked one up and it honestly wasn't too bad. I would say probably just as good as some of the decent pinks i ate this season. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Doesn't look like the tides are in our favor for the next week or two. Thanksgiving week seems to be the best..... Then everyone will be there :(
