Yeah it was rough out there on the Cowlitz today. Very beautiful with the fog and sunrise, but thats it. Saw a guide service catch a nice chrome silver and we saw a couple of jumpers. Tried looking for Jens and company, but no luck, just a long day. We tried everythng in the book short of a hand grenade or snake charmer. I had one hit off a Dick Nite spoon and watched the fish laugh in derision at me as it flopped around in the water splashing and mocking me.

Don't know what to fish for next now that the salmon season is pretty much over. On our way back home to bremerton, we stopped by the Skok to check out the action, that was around 3PM. We saw a few people around at the log jam, but the river was high. We continued on our merry way back home. We laughed, we cried, we made jokes about barking spiders; All in all we had fun despite not catching any fish.

We were at the beginning of the drift. I really had to work at the King I landed. I probably could have caught a few more, but if you seen above the boat launch, there were too many people fishing along the shore. I didn't want to interrupt their drift. Oh well.. Barking spiders are the best when you are the driver and in control of the windows.
What size motor did the guy you fished with have?

I honestly don't know what size, all I know is that when we got into the fast part of the river just past the slough, we had a hard time trying to get back up. Yeah there were a ton of people fishing the shore, so we decided to just stay away.
