I had gone to the snoqualmie today with hopes of a fish. I am not too familiar with water below the falls. I fish above the falls for trout but this was my first trip below falls for fishing. I have been swimming below falls before. Well that said the river drops off deep just a few steps off shore every where I went. Not to mention not many places to fish from shore that looked promising. A drift boat dream from what I seen. I tried to get to the mouth of the tolt but a little creek was blown out completely and I could not cross it. So I fished from by the boat launch. I had a fish jump close to me I think it was small I only heard it. And across river from me I seen a rather large fish jump. It was bright, but could not tell what it was. Just seen silver and large. Really cold winds no fish made me pack it in after 2 hours maybe a lil more. Ill remember my gloves next time out. Thats the only part of me that got cold. But cold hands make it next to impossible to cast.

Try fishing in Fall City next time.You can park right in town and walk up the river all the way to the mouth of the Raging River.There is good water and a nice sandy beach all the way up under the bridge.The mouth of the Raging is where I caught my first steelhead in 1982.Just above the Raging is a public boat launch and another place to park and access the river.Remember all those hatchery fish have too swim right past here to get to where they are going.I hope this helps you out on your next trip.Tight lines and take a kid fishing!

I spoke with a Snoqualmie regular that said that the rise in temp has resulted in the high water. He said with the forecast the way it is we should see the water levels drop pretty significantly over the next week or so and as soon as Wednesday. I personally will be out there on Saturday morning at the cable hole.

I love that river -- several years ago when I lived in the Renton Area, I fished it a lot. You might try the big pool just below the falls. I have an article about this pool in the articles section. Just click on rivers.
