WOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I did it last day of the year. 10lb steelie hen. Glow ballin all night long from 8pm wednesday till thursday morning then fished till noon. I got her just before day break. Take a look at my pics youll see the set up I used. I tried a lil of everything over locations and finally hooked up above the boat launch. Same area I hooked up last week and lost it. Felt the bite and set the hook. Then it was on. Got a few jumps and because of the size and the way it looked in the dark I thought It might have been a late run silver. 6 leaps and 8 reel screaming take offs. I would get her to the bank and then zipppppp she was gone again over and over. I tried to tail her on the 6th take off, my rod slipped outta my hand as it took off. I thought my rod was gone with the fish. I grabbed that up fast. And the fight was on again. Finally got her in and tailed her. That was an unforgettable fight, and a good way to end a year and a great way to bring in the new year.

Ty. I forgot to mention the set up I was using is on my hat. Peach glowball, plain glowball, and flo orange yarn with shrimp smelly jelly and I even put some of mikes anise oil on it. I was trying everything. I almost tossed my son out on my leader to see if hed work.

Right on as I now turn my attention to steelheading also your catch and story is what it's all about. I used to figure 20 hrs per punch, but that was back in the good ole days, probably more than that now. Good on you!

Ty very much everyone. I kinda figured out in my head how many hours it took me to get this stealhead this month. Its somewhere in the area of 45 hours this month alone hunting down the elusive ones. Alot of my wife wondering if Im really fishing or what. Shes not use to me comming home empty handed more then once or twice in a row. But when its 10 times in a row and nothing shes asking ?s. Jens I wanted to sport my local highschool team.

Very Jealous. I have had to resort to trout fishing at Blackmans Lake to build my confidence again. Great job. I've got about 16hrs in and I hope I don't have to wait til the 45 hr mark to get mine. Nice haul!

Awesome! That is one nice fish you got there. Congrats and what a way to start off the year with a clear conscience that you got one before the last year ended. Way to go, Bravo!
