After doing some house chores, was able to get out around 1pm. Decided to try the Carbon River off of River NE/Calistoga St in Orting. Upper portion of the river was flowing fast, had no luck there, few other anglers there with NADA also. Moved down the lower area, found a nice slow drift area to fish. One other angler was there fishing with no success, he was fishing with a spinner. He did mentioned his buddy did catch 2 native steely from there last week. It got me slightly excited and was really hoping for some action, but NADA. I did catch again one of those "overhangingbranchfish" snapped my line and decided to try my RiverFisher spinner, and NADA. The water visible for about 3-4 feet and the flow was much slower. Finally gave up around 4pm. Where have all the fish gone? Do I need to make one of those 3-4hrs drive to catch my first steely. I am starting to get one of those desperate feeling, and who knows what that might lead to.
