The wife had an ortho appt, and so I had to take the kids with me. Arrived at the Carbon River (near the new housing neighborhood in Orting). Had to carry both kids across the water, they both had their folding chairs and played their games while I fished. The water was running fast, but was not high. I found what I thougt was a good holding water near the tiny water fall, but had to cross some water to get there. It was scary since the water was running quite fast, almost fell several times. Finally got to the area I wanted to fish, set up my brand new corky and yarn and first cast damn it "overhangingbranch" fish snapped my line. Set up another corky and yarn, and wouldn't you know it, bam another "overhanging branch" fish, I didn't want to lose this one so I continued towards the branch and luckily the water level was not high but very fast and was nervous again of falling in. Finally got to the branch and snapped that branch off (felt good) and retrieved my set up. It was scary going back to the bank, almost fell several times again, amazing how hard and fast the current moves under water. Looked for another area to fish down riiver and found nothing. Finally got a rockfish and snapped my line and called it quits. What a frustrating day. Got back in the car and decided to head down to Puyallup River at 116th. I didn't want to go home empty handed again, hearing my wife say " What no fish AGAIN".
