First time trying out Pike at POR. We were going to launch as Cusick, but with a small boat/engine decided to launch from David rd. Fish Davis Creek and the Creek across the river from Davis. Put in at 2:30 and pulled out at 7:30pm. Talked to several people that had been fishing from morning and they told us the bite was off for today. Decide we will give it a shot anyways. The weather was great, sunny for the most part with a few clould that came and went. Very little wind, with air temperature in the mid to high 60's.
From Davis rd we drifted downstream casting to shore hoping to get a hit using Firetiger Husky Jerk and a swimbait. After about 30 minutes, we head to Davis creek and spent at least a couple hours there with no hits either. Went accross the river ot the creek(name?) and fished it for an hour, nothing. Went back to the main river and tried it for another 30min or so and call it a day. When we got back to the launch saw fish guts from one pike. So they are out there. Any tips would be appreciated.
On way home we stopped at Sacheen, and dipped poles in the water. Couple Bass and couple Panfish, so at least we didn't get skunked for the day.
