Had a great day yesterday. my brother and myself took our lady friends out for an afternoon on the cow. Saw Phil at riverfishin.com had a dirt cheap afternoon guided trip ($75!!) so we signed up right away, and I'm glad we did. He got us into some serious fish. We only opted for the shorter 4 hour trip and had 7 nice take downs with 4 fish boated by the end. I can only imagine what would have happened if we took a full day trip. I haven't met a guide who worked harder to get you into fish, had a great/friendly attitude, and was constantly working our lines to make sure we always had bait in the water. good guy and taught us a lot about the local waterway.

24lbs of steel currently sitting at the butcher shop getting smoked!

The water level was calm and the weater was off and on between sunny and cloudy. no rain though. saw quite a few fish in the water too while drifting.

The area is known as blue creek. Blue creek is actually the little creek that goes to the blue creek hatchery. He didnt actually fish Blue creek itself. There is no way to get a boat up there lol. Im glad to see that this week water levels are finally back to normal on the river. Man close to 10000fps for along time. Nice looking fish making my choice of sky or cow that much harder.

we actually worked the areas down stream of the launch for a couple mile stretch, but in picking rivers on the reports system I couldn't figure out where to click. I didn't see a regular "cowlitz river" and wasn't sure exactly what the stretch was called.

Where is Blue Creek? I know that it is near Barrier Dam, that is my guess anyhow? How do you get there. Not from the Lewis County area and only fish Riffe occasionally, lol.
