Launched at the Davis Rd. launch at 3:30 pm. We headed straight down to the slough just south of the launch. Water temp in the slough was 71 degrees with most weeds submerged. Found all the largemouth hanging about 5-8 feet off the bank just before the weed line starts. Between 3:30-9 we got 8 LMB to the boat with 3 or 4 missed fish. Biggest bass weighed 4 lb 2 oz with 3 more above 3.5 pounds. All 8 bass were caught in the slough and the tailout of the slough. All bass were caught on a 6" watermelon senko rigged weedless with no weight. We pounded our regular spots for pike but never even saw a pike the whole evening.

Good Job, I fish the river now and then with a friend who lives on it, we have never done that good. We usually just fish the dam and the logs down from the dam. Good smallmouths there.

Dude's, that's one of our favorite spots! There are some nice largies and pike that come out of that slough and those are about the average size. We were in there on the 6th for about an hour up and down both sides and nailed some nice one's around the same size and of course missed a few too. Caught a few 4-5lb Pike in there on the 6th and missed a couple, watched a nice one about 10-12lb's engulf my swimbait, and right as I yanked he spit it out, Urgh! He also had a red tag behind his dorsal fin, I'm sure he's still in there...

Thanks guys. @ iliv2fish.... It's definitely our number one hole to fish too. Usually that slough is full of pike but for some reason we didn't see a single on in there. In the past we've spotted some 40" plus pike in there. The tench were in there spawning and there were literally hundreds in there. Just to clarify too all fish were released as usaul
