I took the family out camping the last few days. We found a great spot that had everything they needed, plus acess to the river for me. I didn't have enough room in the truck for my waders so I had to fish from shore. Made my trip half hiking/ mountain climbing and half fishing. My first day I tried a bunch of new plastic trout worms. they really like bubble gum colored. Most of the fish were brook trout in the 6-8" range. Real skinny but healty looking, possibly stunted. My next day I hit some deeper pools that went through a 15' rock ravine. I climbed down the rocks to get to a casting position and started to work the slack water on the other side of the ravine. I used olive buggers and started getting bumps every other cast. Brought in a brook trout, released him downstream, drifted though again and hooked a bull trout. It was the first time I had seen one of these. those are very beautiful fish, I can see why people want to protect them. he was also skinny, about 7" with real rich colors. All together I had no problems limiting all 3 days I was on the river, with the bite dying off every day between 11 and 3pm. Water was cold, clear, and all fish released unharmed. Sky was clear, 81 degrees, water flow was average.
