Well, after reading the reports of the combat fishing, I'd been turned off the Skok for a bit. But, after not catching anything of mention in my last three or for outtings I found myelf in Olympia with nothing doing for a couple hours, drove the twenty minutes up to the river and went fishing with my brother. We were there for about two hours, in the evening from about 5 to seven, and my brother had packed his summer steelhead pole with twelve pound test on it.

So we waded half the stretch between 101 and 106, and it was really crowded. Saw a bunch of fish caught, even more lost in snags, it really was a madhouse. But I really was impressed at the number of folks I saw that released foul hooked fish. There were quite a few numbsculls snagging fish though, or at least talking about "flossing", which I find annoying. But all in all, everyone was really polite and knew how to fish in line. The fish were everywhere, even in the shallows between holes I could see them swim by. They were bright, and fought really well.

My brother hooked into two fish, on a small peach corky, clean hook ups. Yet they broke his line on account of the arial acrobatics and his inexperience playing such big fish. I had a couple of hits, but I'd been driving eight hours before that, so I was really tired and missed them. It was really an experience to see the mad house of pretty much every salmon angler in a fifty mile radius though. I'll be back.

Its fun there. I been hitting it pretty hard and have 73lbs total out of there in 2 weeks. Ive foul hooked many fish and all are released. It happens, not much you can do about it unfortunately. But nonetheless its a hook up and its fun. Hope you start landing them and you can get that skunk streak over.

Definitely. I'm gonna head down again. Foul hooks are one thing, I've had my share, purposeful snags are a shame.
