Snuck out on Sunday morning to give the Puyallup a try. Never fished it so really had no idea where I was going. Ended up finding a little riverside park (I think was 5th st?). Got to the water about 6am and there was a few on the river already. Fished until 9am. Had one on for about a minute before it came unbuttoned. It was big, but never got to see it. While I was there I saw one small silver caught (5-6lbs) and onother guy caught one which looked to me to be about 3-4lbs and kept yelling "it's a humpy!". He kept it, whatever it was. When I left there were about 20 people up & down the river and several more in the parking lot ready to head in.

I went down to that spot 3 times last week for about an hour each time. I didn't see one fish roll or caught. I have fished at Alderton bridge with same results. Only positive is, I have seen tiny smolt all over at both spots, so hopefully in a few years the river will be good.

I saw 5 or 6 roll while I was there. Didn't see any smolt, of course with the water clarity being so poor i am suprised anybody to see anything in there!
