Caught a nice 6 pound coho at Thomas eddy after work today. First cast with a blue fox spinner, silver blade black body. He rushed towards shore so fast I thought he spit the hook and was reeling like a mad man just in time to catch up to him as he noticed he was going the wrong way and headed back out to the river. I took a chance and forced him up on the beach like a tuna. He left most of his fight for me on the beach when I tried to unhook him and keep a hold of him. After a few tale slaps and a face full of sand I won. Fished a while longer with no luck. Saw no other fish caught, but quite a few rolling. I wouldnt say the run is in yet, but some are starting to show for sure.
I came home put the fish in the fridge for tomorrows dinner, and sat down to a nice dinner of a previously caught coho and some crab left over from the weekend.
