Took Jack Bauer to the river again for an hour before sunset. 112th st bridge. From the moment I got there, the fish were there. Bright silvers swirling and jumping around. They were moving up river. I couldn't get them to take anything I had. Only three other guys there braving the rain, but with waders and raingear, I was toasty. Forgot Jacks Lifejacket, so he opted to roll round in the mucky bank rather than float next to me like he usually does.

So Where are they going? Probably up river past 405 which isn't open til next month. But they're actually there, which is better than I've seen other places. Going to hit it up again tomorrow at first light, see what there is to see. Anybody have any secret weapons for these guys to get them to strike when they've got lockjaw? Going to hit up the lakes this weekend for Kokanee, that's gonna be a blast.

I have tried everything this year. Spoons, spinners, coon shrimp, and eggs. Fished them under a float and tried free drifting them too. I saw probably 100+ fish two days ago go by my flopping and rolling...and I didn't get a single bite. Both sides of the river, close to shore, different depths. All I managed was some sculpins...I did catch two on the same hook. Doubt I will be able to do that ever again, lol. If anyone has any tips on this river please share!

Don't be afraid to toss a Colorado Spinner with a long shanked hook and a nightcrawler. You will be surprised how many fish will actually be interested in this offering. I've fished the lower Green since the 60's and was all I used until recently....The only time you might want to leave the worm off is when the Steelhead Smolts do their downriver thing.

Have you tried drifting eggs with no weight when river flow slows from incoming tide? Never fished that area but with the new rain could be some new fish and the tidal water mixing in on incoming tide there should be a small window of time to free drift some eggs w/o weight. Nice natural drag-free drift if you can. If that doesn't work, try short-quick-twitching the line occassionally during drift. And only if you have to put some weight. Good luck! Tahnx for the rpeorts on the lower Green :-)

I was the guy under the bridge that evening . I have been down there a lot lately and its been tuff i have had 4 hits and my best was getting one to the rocks. Only had one of those hits at high tide and I have only seen one fish landed when water was up and that was on a yellow fox tail. The only time I see fish being landed is during low tide. Plus the nets have been up mon. tue. weds. thurs. I use yarn and corky the only time I get hits is when the river is down and the drift is heading in right direction .

Just went today and had my exciting hook up. Silver vibrax when the tide was out. The fish were in thick today. I think I was the only one with fish on, but I had the sweet spot at the top of the hole. Took my spinner about a foot from shore and jumped ten feet in the air. Well, over my head at least. Didn't have enough line out to play it, otherwise I'd've had it. Vicious take, scared the bajeezus outta me. I've been trying eggs too, I just think that morning is the best.
