fished the hump today above the boat shute and hooked around 25 silvers.got around fifteen to the bank.of all the fish i got only two were bright enough by my standards.the fish in that river are huge for silvers,the two i brought home were big bucks in the 20 pound range and had the big hooknose.by my standards the fishing was only decent and the river is to low and clear and the fish are freaked out,also got 3 king boots and 2 colored up dogs.i used a long leader,just enough weight to occasionally graze bottom,2 small beads,tiny puff of black or brown yarn,and my boondogging rod with 10 pound florocarbon.my hooks were size 6 or 8,small.yes i flossed most of them ,but fair hooked 80 percent of them,need rain bad,wish i would have checked the lower river.anyone know where the bright dogs are at so i can throw some bober and jig?Im waiting for rain so i can go to barrier ,the cascade,or back to the coast.WHERE ARE THE CHROMERS???????Tomato and colored up fish just arent the same.

I was there last weekend, saturday and sunday. There were no silvers when I was there, and it was packed. We fished the lower portion below camp bethel as well, and the fish were really spread out down there, to be able to show 'em all your bait it'd be more productive to float the river. But the "public fishing" place, I don't know the name of the hole, has some nice areas where I saw a few fish rolling in the reddish to brighter stage. No hookups down there, but I didn't have my bobber tackle with me, so we just went up to the hatchery.

I was there last weekend and it was slow.....I wouldn't go back there, and it's not going to rain on the coast Friday and Saturday, so I really wouldn't go fish it on Sunday....better stay close and fish the Puyallup or the Green. ;)
