Well another trip to the PO River this time it was Both Idaho and Washington we fished as we fished below the dam. Put in at oldtown and fished from the dam all the way down to Ashton Felcher bay mainly looking for Pike. Threw everything in the box at the pike and only had 1 bump on a spinner bait. So we ended up chasing Smallmouth and even that was a tuff bite. The only fish we could find were up near the dam in a deeper hole and we could only get bit dropshotting the tail end off a Sink-N-Fool bait. Thought sure the crank bait bite would be good like it was above the dam last Saterday but could not buy a hit on a crank. Also tried spinner baits, tubes and other plastics with no results. Heck I even tried a topwater bait when I saw a big fish roll but no luck on anything but the dropshot rig with a tail off a Sink-N-Fool bait about 3" long. I save my used bait & cut the tails off to use for dropshotting & for jig trailers & spinner & buzz bait trailers too. They work great as trailers, but the drop shot rig is the killer. We ended up with about 15 fish total on the day but it was a really slow bite & no big fish. Big fish of the day was maybe 14" & all were caught in about 15 to 25 feet of water. Had a camera this time but didn't catch anything I wanted to take a pix of :)
