Met up with knotabassturd at Metzler this morning. The river was HIGH and visibility was a foot and a half at best. I think the water either blew the fish downstream, or sent 'em up higher because they were not present in the numbers that I saw earlier this week. Dide hook two chums well past their expiration date and saw a couple firetruck silvers blow through the hole. The fish were single file up the close bank right up through the hole, only hanging around at the tree at the top. No steel. Had good luck first thing and then as the morning progressed we called it quits early. Traded some salmon with Knot for some DELICIOUS egg rolls. All in all, better than the rest of the day spent working. If you're headed out bring the mud boots, the water is almost over the foot bridge!

Hey now... I've got about 2 dozen of those same egg rolls left in my freezer. You won't be disappointed! Interesting photo, I would say in a previous life, that may have been a chum salmon, but presently it looks like moldy cheese with fins.

Yea, it was pretty far gone. I think that the salmon days are over now. The zombies are out in force. I'm gonna leave 'em alone from now on and catch more steelheads.

Good to hear the eggrolls are a thumbs up. Hope the Mrs likes them. Ya that one zombie U C&Rd was definitely past its 'boot' prime LOL. At least it had a little wiggle left in it. That drift is real close to shore for sure. As you said, the fish just weren't holding in there and the occassional firetruck bucks were kinda unsettled headed up or downstream when they went shallow enough to see. No luck for me that short trip. Hope to hear they are holding in there next time to make a quick trip down when I get chances in the mornings. Thanx for the fish! The so-so fish will save one of my brighter fillets for the smoker and give my wife something to work with for making fish cakes. The other fish was definitely decently bright! Tight lines!
