My work is crazy, so I ended up with the afternoon off, so I hit 115th st. I didn't get any steel, but I got a nice dollie about 2.5lbs. I caught it on my fly pole. It was the first fish on that pole. I was using a 14ft. 9wt. spey rod. I was hoping it was my first steelhead on the fly, but it hit hard and faught good.
I was fishing up the river at the next drift. If you can cross, try to get up there that spot is nice and hardly gets any pressure. I fished for about an hour.
When I fish a spot, I try to start at top of hole and "cast, step" until I get to bottom off drift. Then I will change colors and repeat process through the hole. I caught this one second time through.

Great report and great plan for fishing a hole. I hope this report was for December. Just for further information The Puyallup in that area closed Dec. 31 to Salmon, trout, and other game fish. Upstream from the Carbon on the Puyallup is open until Feb. 28th.

Also that's not a steel head that looks like a dolly varden. Those are endangered and your not supposed to keep them.
