Hit the hwy side of Reiter this afternoon. Got there about noon, as I was gearing up a guy walking out said he tried spoons and float/jig, got no strikes and saw no fish caught - not a good sign. Got to the river and it was a little higher than I like, but the color was perfect steelhead green. Talked to another couple guys on thier way out, said they hooked & lost one and saw no other fish caught on either side all morning. Now I'm really not expecting much, just glad to be able to get out. So I worked my way downstream and finally about 2pm bobber down, hook set, head shake and fish on! Fought pretty well, hugged the bottom. Got it in and it was a cookie cutter hatchery hen about 8#, too dark for me to want to keep so I got her up close, got a good grip on my jig and with a jerk and twist, off she swam. Got one more hit before I called it a day about 3pm. Didn't see any other fish caught.
