Went fishing today and started at the hatchery on the grande ronde around 630am. I within 30 minutes I had my first two fish which I kept and at about 9am I caught my 3rd steelhead which I released. Fishing slowed down for a bit so I decided it was time to get a bite to eat and ate at boggans oasis, it was delicious. When my lunch was done I decided to fish where I was fishing on monday. After about a hour here I had fish on again, this one was beautiful, brite, about 10lbs and native so it was released and no picture was taken. around 2pm there was a push of school that came through I got 2 fish within 10 minutes and 5 out of the 6 people around me each caught a fish, I played the "last cast" game about 45 times and called it a day around 315. All in all I got 6 fish to the shore, had another 4 fish on but spit the hook near shore and I couldnt even tell you how many I missed. I think I must have had the hot color because I dont know if anyone around me caught 3 all day, must be beginners luck but I sure had a blast, glad a chose to go back after getting skunked on monday and my friends saying they were too tired this morning, hahaha jokes on them.

Everytime I was ready to leave Either a fish would roll rise or I would miss a bump, the two I kept were a little more colored than I would have liked but still tasted good on the BBQ

I see that drifting technique is working for you
Did you jig-andbobber at all?
How high is the water now?

i didnt jig and bobber at all, I watched one guy get one on a orange jig tipped with a piece or orange died shrimp... the water was somewhat high from what i was told but i have nothing to reference it to, it was the same height as on monday with visibility at 1.5 feet on monday and 2ft on wednesday

Is it very crowded? I am new to Steelheading so forgive me for asking why your fish look like spawned out trout/salmon versus the bright fish that guys catch over this side of the Mountains? The tail on the bottom fish looks kind of moldy? Well anyways, seems like some easy fishing need to head over there.
